We didn’t plan to drive quite so far today but as we had an easy time driving around Bangkok on Highway 9 West (the outer ring road) we kept going and eventually arrived in Cha-am. We spent the night at the Dusit Resort & Polo Club. Since we had not planned ahead we had to pay the full price of 6,000 Baht for a room. We were fortunate to even get a good room in the area.
We had called several resorts and they were all full. The Dusit is a quality hotel with lots of space and even though the occupancy rate was high we never felt crowded. That was in stark contrast to our earlier stay in the area at the Marriott in Hua Hin, where we couldn’t even get two chairs at either the beach or the swimming pool.
